Clinic Tour
Our facility is designed to assure your pet's health and well being. Each exam room table is disinfected after every appointment. The treatment table, surgery room, and radiology table are also disinfected after each procedure. In the evening the clinic is cleaned thoroughly with a disinfectant. We take great pride in the appearance of our facility and hope that you enjoy our clean atmosphere.
Come take a tour of our office. We will start from the front door and make our way through to the boarding facility.
*If you would like to take a tour in person feel free to stop by our office and ask.
~ Reception Area ~
Check in and out with our receptionist. She'll see to it that you get everything you need.
~ Waiting Area ~
Though we try not to keep you waiting very long.
~ Over the Counter ~
Everything from shampoo, flea & tick preventative, heartworm preventative, vitamins, and dental health products, all in one place with expert advice.
~ Scale ~
This is the scale where your pet is weighed before each appointment. The scale is disinfected throughout the day to decrease transmission of illnesses.
~ Treatment Area ~
The treatment area is where your pet will be prepped for surgery, receive hospital care, and dental cleanings. We also prepare vaccines, perform fecals and heartworm tests in this area, as well as post surgical monitoring.
~ Surgery Suite ~
After your pet is prepped, he/she is moved to the surgical suite. Your pet is monitored for the entire procedure. The monitor checks the heart rate, pulse ox (the amount of oxygen saturated in your pet's blood stream), respiration, and even your pet's blood pressure.
~ Radiology & Equipment ~
After your pet has a radiograph taken; we are able to develop that radiograph in about 90 seconds with our automatic processor. In years past "dip tanks" were used to develop radiographs. This process took approximately 20 minutes. We shall wait no longer!! With automatic processors, we can see the results of your pet's radiograph in the matter of seconds.
~ Radiograph Digital Converter ~
After we have developed your pet's radiograph, we can now convert it to a digital image. This makes it easier to send radiographs to veterinary specialists for consult. Above is just one of the many radiographs we have converted to a digital image.
~ Hospital Ward ~
The hospital ward is where your pet will go for recovery after a procedure or where your pet will stay while it is hospitalized. Each run and stainless steel cage is thoroughly disinfected after each patient released. Boarders who are not up-to-date on vaccinations will also be placed in the hospital ward for a minimum of 72 hours. We do this to decrease chances of contamination in our boarding facility. Patients with an extremely contagious disease are placed in our isolation ward to decrease the chance of spreading the disease to our other hospitalized patients and boarders.
~ Laboratory ~
With our in-house lab we can run a UAS (urinalysis), cytology, CBC (complete blood count), MDB (minimum data base, this test is performed before most surgical procedures), and other laboratory services to define your pet's condition.
~ Cat Ward ~
Boarding cats have a ward all their own. Each condo is designed to open up into a multi level suite and each day the cats are let out to roam and explore the room or to bask in the sunlight in the window. This helps your cat to get some exercise while it stays at the "Patchell Paws & Claws Spa". Each condo is cleaned daily and litter box cleaned throughout the day as needed. If your cat has a favorite toy, blanket, or bed don't hesitate to bring it in. After a cat goes home, the condos are disinfected from top to bottom.
~ Dog Ward ~
There are two dog wards. The first ward has stainless steel cages for the smaller dogs that board. The second ward contains nine runs for larger dogs. The runs range in size from small to extra large. The largest run is referred to as the Presidential Suite and accommodates our largest boarders (such as Great Danes and Mastiffs). Each run and stainless steel cage is disinfected after boarders go home.
~ Outdoor Runs ~
This is where your dog will be walked during its stay at the "Patchell Paws & Claws Spa". Each dog is brought out one at a time and put in separate runs. Dogs from the same household can go out together. Dogs are walked four times a day. On really nice days your dog is able to spend extra time outdoors; with close supervision, of course.
~ Food Room ~
We carry Hill's Science Diet and Prescrition Diet food. We advocate healthy eating and offer nutritional consultation.
