PATCHELL VETERINARY CLINIC

Kathy became a team member in February of 2007. She is great with animals and loves making them feel at home in our boarding facility. She does have a cat, Baby Boy, that lives with her brothers. Kathy loves cats especially Peggy Sue, Dockers and Tag.

A native of Rector, Arkansas, Dr. Holifield has been working toward her DVM degree since childhood, and is still amazed that her dream is now realized. She graduated from Clay County Central High School in 2000, and attended Hendrix College, where she received her Bachelor of Arts in biology in 2004. Dr. Holifield spent her vet school years in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, at the Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine (Geaux Tigers!). She is glad to be back in Arkansas, and away from the hustle and bustle of the big city. In her spare time, Dr. Holifield reads voraciously, loves the theatre (especially if she can be involved in the production), and enjoys cooking. She shares her home with a black and white cat named Tumani for her "too many" toes, as well as her two dogs, Rowan and Gypsy, who are both rescues from the LSU small animal teaching hospital.

Jamie came to work for the clinic in August of 2002.  Jamie is a highly skilled veterinary assistant with experience in dental cleanings, radiographs, and many computer skills.  She also makes sure all patients receive the "tender love and care" they deserve.  Jamie was promoted to Office Manager in December of 2006.  She is in charge of ordering all the inventory and other various projects.  Before coming to work here Jamie found out her mom had attended high school with Dr. Patchell.  Jamie has been married to her husband, Jeremy since December of 2000.  They currently have no “human” children but they do have one cat, Sadie; and three dogs, a Beagle mix, Brutus Dexter; an American Eskimo, Kody Bear; and a Pomeranian, Teddy Bear.  Jamie is working toward a degree in Veterinary Practice Management.

Amber Lynn Shafer, Assistant

Amber came to Arkansas in August of 2005 from the great state of Texas. Amber had previously worked for a veterinarian in Texas for 3 years. Amber began working in the kennel area cleaning and taking care of the boarders at night and on weekends. Amber quickly made her way to a full time assistant. She assists both veterinarians with appointments, surgery, radiographs, and any hospital care. She runs labwork and assures specimens are sent to appropriate labs. Amber is amazing with all her patients. Amber has a cat named Angel, a dachshund/chihuahua mix named Caine, and a pitbull mix named D.C. Amber plans to continue her education by attending ASU-Heber Springs and obtain a degree in general education.
Amber Lynn joined our crew as a receptionist in December 2007. She has been a wonderful addition to the team. Her bright personality is welcoming to all our clients and patients. Amber Lynn loves animals of all kinds and plans to become a Veterinary Technician. She used to work as a receptionist for a "human" doctor's office and decided it was animals she wanted to work with. She currently has a cat named Nathan and a minature schnauzer named Gypsy. In her spare time Amber Lynn helps her mom raise and breed minature schnauzers. On May 4th, 2009, Amber Lynn welcomed a beautiful baby girl named Paige to her family.

PATCHELL VETERINARY CLINIC

Danielle started working with the team in 2009. Growing up, she had always said she was going to become a surgeon or some type of "people" doctor. She just recently decided that she wanted to help animals instead. She has her Associates of Applied Science from ASU-Heber Springs and plans to further her education by becoming a Certified Veterianry Technician. She has applied to the Vet Tech program at ASU-Beebe and hopes to be enrolled this August. Her "non-human" family includes a boxer named Maverick and a border collie named Scout. Someday she plans to add to her family by adopting a cat.
